Seasons Change
There are seasons in life and work, just as there are in nature.
There are seasons in economies too, and it isn't difficult to guess that the world economy is in for a long winter. If you believe the media mantras, you might succumb to the chilling thought that this winter season might also be a harbinger of an economic Ice Age.
Yet there are a handful of people who are just not buying that line of thought. They are rejecting the recession, thinking bigger, using the current crisis to rethink their mindset, do some space clearing, rejuvenate themselves, and come back stronger than ever in the emerging new economy.
What follows the winter thaw?
Spring of course!
Here's a harder question, and perhaps an even more chilling thought.
What is the real cause of the winter freeze?
Is it possible that the winter thaw, and the spring season which follows it, do not come automatically by waiting it out?
Is it possible that there are things you can do now to accelerate the thaw and bring on the new growth and hopeful prospects of spring?
Is it possible that we have more control over this process than the mass media mantra would have you believe?
Is it possible that you can turn things around, starting with the man or woman in the mirror?
I think that the answer is YES, YES, YES, & YES!
But it will be easier with a regular dose of practical wisdom from the Entrepreneurs Creative Edge. To add flexible focus to this process I have created this new page within the blog called the Creative Career Path. You can access it anytime from the sidebar at the right.
This page is your springboard to a series of weekly articles which will appear on the website of one of Japan's leading sources of information on job hunting, career change, and matching the right people to the right jobs, DAIJOB.COM. Click here to open the springboard link to your Creative Career Path.
These weekly articles will also appear as a syndicated column in the Wednesday edition of the DAILY YOMIURI NEWSPAPER, starting on May 13, 2009.
Read the first article on DAIJOB.COM, which sets the pace and outlines the direction of the column. To download the newspaper version of that same article, click here: Download 05_06.
You'll have to click on the springboard link to get to the articles and back numbers, but they will be announced and supplemented here with:
- Links to useful references
- Announcements of events
- Related seminars and training
- Expert resource interviews
- Coaching and certification programs
I will also be making a blog post as each article goes online, as well as announcing it on Twitter, Facebook, and Linkedin. This gives you a number of options for following the article series, as well as getting reminders sent to you each week. You can subscribe to this blog in a number of ways in the box at the upper right.
Bookmark this page to keep up-to-date on your Creative Career Path!

William, congratulations on the new opportunity to spread your positive and "edgy" message in Japan and beyond.
I look forward to contributing to the discussion on blogging, social media and personal online branding.
