The video shows a report on a Japanese television show about the Japan Expo held in Paris in 2008, which was attended by 100,000 people.
This summer the Japan Expo 2009 will be the 10th Anniversary of this event, and the attendance is expected to swell to 150,000 people.
I was fortunate to receive an invitation to attend, as part of a project called Shikoku Muchujin in Paris.
We will be exhibiting at the show in Paris in July, featuring photos, talk shows, and performances of cool aspects of Japanese culture from Shikoku.
We are working on the presentation at this moment, and I will likely be doing demonstrations of Aikido, Nanba, and Shodo, as well as collaborating on talk shows.
Our purpose is to promote interest in tourism and business in Shikoku by engaging professional bloggers to actually visit Japan and see for themselves what is cool about Japan. I'm lucky to be one of them!
My friend David Michaud is a photo journalist, and he is in Shikoku
right now taking thousands of photos for the project. Though David
lives in Japan, his blog www.lejapon.fr is one of the top blogs in French about Japan, and is already featuring parts of his visit to Shikoku.
Will keep you posted as the project develops!
